Reproductive & Sexual Health
Urology Endowment Fund
Reproductive and Sexual Health affect both men and women throughout their lives. Reproductive and sexual health challenges individuals may face include family planning, sexually transmitted diseases, testicular cancer, infertility and erectile dysfunction (ED). These issues can have a major impact on an individual's social, mental and emotional well-being. Male infertility and ED may both be signs of other, underlying health issues.
There is a tremendous need for education and awareness. Public education efforts must be aimed at a broad range of ages, address disparities and feature messages that resonate for diverse populations.
"Reproductive and sexual health are important issues for men due to the impact on their quality of life or the underlying medical conditions that are often the cause. Because reproductive and sexual health is connected to overall issues of health, patient education is crucial to helping men understand their conditions. The resources and tools the Urology Care Foundation provides are key to helping my patients live a long and healthy life," stated Ajay K. Nangia, MBBS, FACS, Chair of the Urology Care Foundation's Reproductive and Sexual Health Committee and Professor of Urology, Director of Andrology: Male Infertility, Microsurgery, Men's Health Dept of Urology University of Kansas Hospital and Medical Center.
