May is Women’s Health Month, a time to focus on the health and wellness of women all over the world. It's also a great time to help raise awareness of urology-related conditions that affect women. Women may see urologists for many reasons related to their urinary system and reproductive health.
Common reasons include urinary tract infections (UTIs), urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, kidney stones, bladder or kidney cancer, interstitial cystitis, urinary retention and issues with reproductive organs such as the uterus, ovaries and vagina.
Urology is not often linked with women’s health, but during the month of May, we hope women will take control of all aspects of their urologic health.
Here are a few resources you may find helpful for women’s health!
